As part of our commitment to ensure a secure energy grid for Florida, we plan to construct a new 69-kilovolt (kV) transmission line and Substation in Pasco County, Fla. This project will enhance the ability of Duke Energy to provide safe and reliable energy to homes, community facilities and businesses in Pasco County. A preferred route has been selected and is shown here. The easement area will be determined by land surveying which will begin in Spring 2019. Where easements are needed on private property, Duke representatives will begin contacting property owners in Summer 2019 to discuss fair compensation.
The comments and feedback we received were a vital part of Duke’s comprehensive process for selecting routes for the new transmission lines. We have selected a route that we believe will have the least overall impact to homes, personal property, businesses, the environment and the community.
